Through my volunteer work at Tribes 4 Christ, I was able to contribute to community development projects on the La Jolla Indian Reservation, including managing a community farm, renovating parks and homes, and teaching math, English, music, and acting to children. Also hosted fundraisers to support these efforts, funding supplies such as gardening equipment, renovation materials, and school essentials for the local children.
At Stanford, I worked as an intern under Professor Siyeon Rhee researching cystic fibrosis. I was responsible for performing lab techniques/procedures like Masson’s Trichrome Staining and analyzing mice hearts using cryostats and imaging software like Qupath.
I interned at Congresswoman Young Kim’s campaign and was responsible for voter outreach, canvassing, and cold calling to promote the congresswoman's campaign. Built support through direct advocacy and learned more about the campaign side of politics.
RAY is a non-profit organization that supports local child care centers and single mothers. At RAY, I created a program called Artverse that teaches children singing, songwriting, and guitar to foster creative expression. I built friendships with the children through games, art activities, and managed/performed holiday performances. Due to privacy/protection reasons, no photography was allowed.
